There are only two no-no's for placement of your piano in your home:

1. Don't put your piano directly over or near a forced-air vent.
2. Don't put your piano in direct sunlight.

You can use a slightly damp cloth to clean the keys and the case; don't use Pledge or other products like it.  If the case is very dirty or greasy, a small bit of lemon oil and a soft cloth will clean most pianos.

We rarely have problems with moths eating felt,  as is so common in other parts of the world.  Mice like to live inside pianos if they are not played; they can severely damage your piano.
